Whenever my husband sees an image of an Acacia tree he comments on how much he likes that tree. I decided to create an Acacia tree just for him.
The sky and background were painted separately and then stitched together. The trunk of the tree was painted and then fused to the background. The canopy of the tree was then painted. The trees in the distance and the weeds and grasses in the foreground were painted last. Details were applied using oil pastel sticks. The border is commercial fabric and the quilt was quilted on my domestic machine. Note the dozing leopard on the tree limb.
