Rose

The flower was drawn directly onto the fabric using a photograph of a rose as a pattern.

Rose

2012 • 14” x 22”

The quilt began as a piece of 100% cotton white fabric. The flower was drawn directly onto the fabric using a photograph of a rose as a pattern.  I used hand painted fabric under the flower and the stem to give each their color.  I created the leaf design around the perimeter of the quilt and quilted the piece with micro stippling, using different colored thread to create various colors in the center.
