Bell Rock is a magnificent sandstone monolith in Sedona, Arizona.
The fabric is 100% cotton and hand painted. The quilt was constructed in stages. First the sky and foreground, then Bell Rock was fused and stitched. Then the middle ground tree trunks were painted separately and fused and the middle ground bushes were painted. Finally the foreground trees and the rocks were added and the grasses were fused and free motion stitched onto the piece. In addition to fabric paint I also used oil pastels and fabric markers for the details.
